This module teaches a range of spatial analysis skills, while at the same time exploring some of the fundamental spatial analysis and GIS core topics, such as effects of scale, density estimation, or topological problems. All techniques introduced in theory sessions will also be investigated in the R statistics environment and spatial analysis, along with short exercises. This data science oriented module combines programming skills with techniques for handling and processing spatial information – both essential environmental science competences.
